George Rogers Foundation of the Carolinas Scholarship
Applicants must be a:
- First-generation college student - defined as a student whose parent(s) have not graduated from an institute of higher education with a four-year degree
- High school senior or a currently enrolled full-time undergraduate student.
Scholarships will be awarded based on academic achievements and honors, extracurricular and volunteer participation, work experience and essay responses. Application submissions will be scored using a scholarship application scoring rubric.

Kids' Chance of SC provides scholarships to children of SC workers who have been seriously injured or killed in a work related accident. To be eligible applicants must have a parent who has been killed or seriously injured as a result of a work related accident that meets the criteria of the SC Workers' Compensation Act and that resulted in demonstrated financial need. The Urban League of the Upstate announces additional partnerships with Spinx and the Chapman Foundation to provide spring scholarships for high school students pursuing higher education opportunities after graduation. Thanks to these partnerships, the Urban League of the Upstate will provide $10,000 in scholarships to help students in need attend the institute of their choice.
Spinx and Urban League of the Upstate will provide five Fred Adkins Memorial Scholarships, each worth $1,000, to area high school students based on need and other qualifications. To apply, go towww.urbanleagueupstate.org, or follow this link. Applications must be received by March 24th.
The BMW Scholars Program is an apprenticeship program that partners with local area technical colleges allowing students interested in manufacturing related degrees to attend class full-time while working part-time at BMW. BMW provides tuition assistance each semester and a competitive part-time wage while the student is enrolled and participating in the Program. Seniors, Blanchard Machinery Company, the Caterpillar heavy equipment and engine dealer for the state of South Carolina is looking for students to participate in an educational and employment opportunity – the Caterpillar Dealer Academy. This academy includes student taking classes at Florence Darlington Technical College as well as participating in a paid internship. Each year the South Carolina State Fair “Ride of Your Life” Scholarship Program awards a total of $300,000 in scholarships to high school students in South Carolina.
Applications are now available at www.scstatefair.org. Applications must be completed online by March 15, 2017.
This scholarship is available to any student in South Carolina who is a senior in a public or private high school or home school. This student must be planning to attend a public or private college, university, or technical college in the state of South Carolina.
The South Carolina State Fair will award fifty (50) $6000 scholarships to students across the state to be paid at the rate of $1500 per year over a four year period. The fifty 2017 scholars will be required to meet eligibility requirements deemed necessary by the South Carolina State Fair.
The National Scholarship Program with Barbizon USA will be here on Feb 14 at both lunches. Stop by their table for an opportunity to win a college scholarship for any 4 year accredited college of your choice in the United States. Friends of the Sarlin Library Scholarship

The South Carolina Association of Extension Administrative Professionals (SCAEAP) offers a $1,000.00 scholarship to students pursuing their initial associate or baccalaureate degree in administrative office technology, accounting, business management or business administration field. The Better Business Bureau of the Upstate is proud to announce the 2017 Student Of Integrity Awards to recognize high school students who personify high character through leadership, community service, academic achievement, and overall personal integrity.

The South Carolina Council on the Holocaust is pleased to offer a scholarship for graduating seniors that honors the memory of those who perished during the Holocaust.
The scholarship is open to high school seniors who will attend a two- or four-year college or university, with matriculation to begin in the 2016-2017 academic year. The scholarship is open to students in the state of South Carolina.
Students must submit a 750- to 1,500-word essay with a Works Cited page in MLA format addressing the following topic:
Several years ago the South Carolina Superintendent of Education proposed cutting the funding for the South Carolina Council on the Holocaust. Write a convincing argument about the importance and relevance of Holocaust education to South Carolina today.

Nursing Schools Almanac is proud to announce our third annual Aspiring Nurse Scholarship. We will award a $1,000 scholarship to an aspiring nurse who best demonstrates:
This scholarship competition is open to all U.S. high school seniors who plan to pursue college education in nursing, including LPN / LVN, ADN, and BSN programs.

Seniors planning to attend any public or private accredited four-year college or university in the fall are invited to apply for the Dr. Charlotte Kay Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is limited to LHS seniors and will be awarded based primarily on financial need. The South Carolina Education Association-Retired annually awards the SCEA-Retired Scholarship to encourage promising young people to prepare for careers in education at an accredited four-year college or university in South Carolina. The amount of the scholarship is $1,000 and will be awarded for four-years if the applicants continue to meet the guidelines.
To be eligible a student must:
-be a graduating senior
-plan to attend a four-year accredited college or university in South Carolina
-plan for and pursue a career in education
-have maintained a good high school academic record and maintain a 3.0 while attending a South Carolina college or university
-demonstrate leadership abilities
-need financial assistance

"Aspiring Animation Professional" Scholarship Program.

The State Farm Good Neighbor Scholarship doesn’t require a high GPA, but rather focuses on students who are leaders and volunteers in their communities and demonstrate financial need.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a 2017 graduating high school senior.
- High school seniors must have a cumulative GPA between a 2.5 and 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.
- Plan to enroll full-time for the 2017-18 academic year at an accredited 2- or 4-year college, university or vocational-technical school.

Applications for Erskine Presidential Scholarships are now open and will be accepted through January 6, 2017.
Students who demonstrate the academic commitment and performance that Erskine College values could reap the rewards — as much as $120,000 over the next four years.
The Erskine Presidential Scholarship selection committee will choose five highly motivated and creative individuals whose activities reflect qualities of leadership and service in their respective schools, churches, and communities.
The selection committee will consider the following factors:

• Demonstrated leadership and service in school, church, and community

The Upstate Association of Educational Office Professionals (UAEOP) announces its annual scholarship of up to $500 for a student who plans to pursue a degree in the business or educational field.
Applicants must be a graduating senior,
must have maintained a C average or better in high school and a B average in high school business or education courses must plan to enter an accredited institution in the fall term following graduation must be a US citizen and a resident of South Carolina.

The Harry Hampton Scholarship is a 4 year sholarship for students who wish to further their education in the natural resources discipline such as wildlife biology, fisheries biology, forestry and marine science. The recipient will receive the scholarship for 4 years as long as the student maintains a GPa or 2.5 or above.
The Wallace F. Pate Scholarship is a one year scholarship for students who wish to further their education in the natural resources discipline such as wildlife biology, fisheries biology, forestry, or marine science.
The David M. Cline Scholarship is a one year scholarship for students who wish to pursue a degree in law enforcement/criminal justice/forensic science.
The James O. Thomason Scholarship is a 4 year scholarship for students who wish to further their education in print or photo journalism, advertising, public relations, or mass communications. The recipient will receive the scholarship for 4 years as long as the student maintains a GPa or 2.5 or above.

MLK Dream Weekend Scholarship
Martin Luther King, Jr. took hold of the freedoms promised by our nation’s founding fathers and used his
constitutional rights when he made his speech and developed his dream. By taking action on his dream, Dr.
King was able to change the future of men, women and children, and impact so many aspects of our current
society. It is this spirit that inspired us to continue the theme for the 2017 MLK Dream Scholarships.
Twelve scholarships will be awarded totaling over $100,000. All scholarships entries
will be evaluated for selection based on transcripts, letters of recommendation, autobiography statement,
GPA, financial need and demonstrated leadership and community service.
