Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program

Seniors:  Abbott & Fenner Business Consultants 
are pleased to be able to continue with our scholarship program for the 11th year. 
They will be awarding up to $1,000 to the winner(s) each year. 
Scholarship Deadline   -  June 14, 2018. 
Application Process
Students will submit an essay on the topic that appears on the scholarship page of their website:


Bufort B. and Sudie K. McKelvey Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded annually to a Pickens County senior who wish to pursue a course of study leading to a degree in an accredited four year college or university 

Considerations for student selection are:

  1. Financial need
  2. Academic ability for college work
  3. Outstanding character
  4. Potential to develop into a good citizen.

Students may reapply annually.  The deadline is June 30, 2018.

The Guidance Office has received applications for the Charlie C. Hagood Scholarship. This one-time $2,000 scholarship will be awarded to a Pickens County Senior who plans to attend an accredited college or university (including technical colleges) in pursuit of a Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services field. Interested students should see Mrs. Burgess or Mrs. Latham for an application. The deadline is April 30, 2018

For the 22nd year, the Cannon Memorial Hospital Auxiliary is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating high school senior and/or a member of our community entering or furthering their career in a medical field.  Recipients will have their scholarship money paid directly to the school of their choice.
All applications must be completed in their entirety and received at AnMed Health Cannon no later than April 16, 2018.  The scholarship recipient will be notified early May.  See Mrs. Latham or Burgess for an application. 

Seniors planning to attend any public or private accredited four-year college or university in the fall are invited to apply for the Dr. Charlotte Kay Memorial Scholarship.  This scholarship is limited to LHS seniors and will be awarded based primarily on financial need.  Other considerations will be academic achievement, essays, letter of recommendations and scholastic aptitude.  See Mrs. Burgess or Mrs. Latham for an application. ​ Applications are due by March 28, 2018.

2018 Legacy Scholarship

The foundation provides a one-time scholarship that can be used at an accredited 4 year college or university in the US for tuition, books, room and board, and other college fees.

Have a 2.5 GPA or higher

The William B. and Lela P. Earle Scholarship

The scholarship was established by William B. Earle Jr. to honor his parents, William B. and Lela P Earle.  It will be awarded by the trust for as much as full tuition for four years and $100 per semester for books.  The scholarship will not provide room, board, transportation or other expenses.

Priority is given to applicants from the Tamassee are of Oconee County and second priority is given to all Oconee and Pickens County students. 

It is a requirement of the scholarship that the recipient complete courses in art appreciation, music appreciation and comparative religion before the beginning of the senior year of college, with a grade of at least a C in each course.

College Covered is excited to announce the launch of the 2018 scholarship program. This year, entrants have a chance to win $10,000 to help pay for college! High school seniors, current college students and parents are eligible to enter. No essay is required. To enter visit



Sleep Health Scholarship is pleased to announce our annual Sleep Health Scholarship. We created this scholarship to spread awareness about sleep as a public health issue and help students cut down the rising costs of higher education.

Each student who is awarded our scholarship will be given $1,000 towards their university or college fees. The scholarship is awarded once every academic year and is open to all students in the United States who meet the eligibility criteria.

Eligibility requirements

  • Current high school (or home-schooled) seniors attending school in the United States or Canada OR current college students already studying at an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution
  • You must be a U.S. citizen
  • Anticipating completion of high-school diploma at time of application or already in possession of high-school diploma/GED
  • Planning to or currently pursuing a degree at an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution
  • Carrying a minimum 3.00 GPA


Scholarship applications close on Sept 25th every year. The scholarship winner will be notified via email within one month of the annual deadline.

How to apply

To apply, please create a short video (no longer than 5 minutes) that answers the following:

  • What factors most negatively and positively affect your sleep?
  • Assess the quality of your own sleep health and discuss some ways that you can improve it.
  • Make your video creative and impactful both to yourself and others.
  • The most creative submission will win the scholarship each year.

Upload your video to YouTube, make sure it is titled “Mattress Help Scholarship Submission – Your Name – Year” and include the link when you submit your application below.

Dixie Baseball Bernie Varnadore Scholarship

Outstanding High School Seniors who have participated in a franchised Dixie Boys Baseball, Incorporated program and plan to pursue undergraduate studies at a college or university may apply. Dixie Boys Baseball, Incorporated programs include Dixie Boys Baseball for boys 13 and 14 years old; Dixie Pre-Majors Baseball for boys 15 thru 17 years old; and Dixie Majors Baseball for boys 15 thru 19 years old.

South Carolina State Fair Scholarship

I. Eligibility:    


A.  Applicant must be a full-time resident of South Carolina and a senior in public or private
high school or home school in South Carolina. 
B.  Applicant must complete the online application form in its entirety.
C.  Applicant must attach a current photograph (preferably a senior class photo). 
D.  Applicant must attend a public or private college, university, or technical college in the state 
of South Carolina.
                                                II. Award:      

A.  Applicant will be judged based on need, academic and extra-curricular achievement, communication skills, and on aptitude for completion of application.
B.  Scholarship will be paid directly to the treasurer’s office of the college or university attended. 
C.   Fifty (50) $6000 scholarships will be awarded to students across the state to be paid at the rate of $1500 per year over a four-year period.  Students pursuing two-year degrees will receive $1500 per year over the two-year period.

Attention High School Juniors


Better Business Bureau of the Upstate is proud to announce the 2018 Student of Integrity Awards to recognize high school students who personify high character through leadership, community service, academic achievement, and overall personal integrity.  Winners will receive a $1500 scholarship.


Only one applicant from Liberty high School will be nominated.

Caring and Nurturing will reward (1) graduating senior anywhere between $300 and $1000 dollars contingent upon donations.  We understand this may not be a lot of money but it will be a fresh start into a prosperous future for some.

The George Rogers Foundation
First in Family Scholarship
The George Rogers Foundation was founded in an effort to provide scholarships for first in family students in need of financial assistance to pursue a college education.  
Applicants must be a:
  • South Carolina resident
  • First in Family student - defined as s student who will be the first person in their family to attend a 2 or 4 year school
  • graduating high school senior
Applicants must submit:
  • An official transcript with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Admissions acceptance letter.
  • Two letters of recommendation from a high school/college faculty member, school counselor employer, or church leader
  • One letter of affirmation from a parent/guardian stating the applicant is the first person in his/her family to attend college

The South Carolina Association of Extension Administrative Professionals (SCAEAP) is offering a $1000 scholarship to students pursuing a career in the secretarial science, computer science or business management field.

The South Carolina Education Association-Retired annually awards the scholarship to encourage promising young people to prepare for careers in education at an accredited four-year college or university in South Carolina.  The amount of the scholarship is $1,000 and will be awarded for four-years if the applicants continue to meet the guidelines.

To be eligible a student must:

  • be a graduating senior

  • plan to attend a four-year accredited college or university in South Carolina

  • plan for and pursue a career in education

  • have maintained a good high school academic record and maintain a 3.0 while attending a South Carolina college or university

  • demonstrate leadership abilities

  • need financial assistance

  • include a picture of the applicant

OnePalmetto Scholarship and College Fair

The purpose of The OnePalmetto Scholarship and College Fair is to expose high school and current college students to available college and scholarship opportunities.  Students will have access to:

Abbott & Fenner invites juniors and seniors to apply for their scholarships by submitting an essay on the following topic:

Describe your educational career and life goals. Explain your plan for achieving these goals. Include your degree/major, why you selected it, and how this degree/major will help you achieve your goals.


The essay should be between 500 and 1000 words. The submissions must be sent to A&F by email at: by June 14, 2018. 

The winner(s) of this annual scholarship will receive their award within 2 weeks of the listed deadline. All applicants should include their full name and mailing address with their submissions as well as the school they are currently attending.

Seniors are invited to apply for scholarships presented by the 
National Association of Federal Education Program Administrators.  There is a scholarship specifically for students who will be majoring in Education and additional scholarships for those majoring in any area.  Criteria includes extra curricular activities, community service and leadership experiences, letters of recommendation, Financial need and an essay.  Students may pick up an application packet in the guidance office.  The deadline to apply is Jan 31, 2018. 


The Beauty + Wellness Scholarship for Women
 awards $1,000 + a care package filled with healthy organic goodies each quarter to young women who are striving to maintain their health and wellness as they pursue their higher education goals. 

Eligibility requirements:

    • Award: $1,000

    • Quarterly Deadlines: January 1, March 31st, June 30th, and September 30th every year

    • Eligibility:

        + Must be a graduating high school senior, current college undergraduate, or current graduate student at a 4-year, 2-year, vocational, or technical school in the United States.

2018 SCATA Scholarship

South Carolina Association of Title I Administrators

The South Carolina Association of Title I Administrators will award twelve scholarships for deserving students. 

Scholarship Qualifications

1.     Eligible for free or reduced priced lunch based on current USDA eligibility criteria.

2.    Enrolled in an accredited high school in South Carolina and meet all requirements for obtaining a South        

        Carolina high school diploma by the end of the current school year.

3.    Able to meet the entrance requirements of an approved post-secondary institution.

4.    Submit a completed application packet by the required date.     

SCATA Nomination Process

     One student may be nominated from each South Carolina high school.  It is the applicant's responsibility to complete all information and submit the application by the required date. The school will forward the completed application packet for its nominee to the district's Title I coordinator. The district's Title I coordinator will select one application to send to the regional representative. The scholarship committee, chaired by the regional representative, will review all applications and select three (3) nominees that best meet the scholarship award criteria. A Review Worksheet will be used by the committee to rate applications.
