South Carolina Federal Credit Union 2024 Scholarship

INTRODUCTION

South Carolina Federal Credit Union is awarding nine scholarships, with denominations between $2,500 and $10,000. Please click HERE for the official scholarship rules.

Here's what you'll need:

  • Recommendation letter from someone who can provide an academic or professional reference, such as a teacher or guidance counselor from high school or college, or a supervisor from a current or past job. This person should be able to speak to your personal character, academic achievements, and work and volunteer experience.

  • Transcript from your current school with unweighted GPA (unofficial transcripts are acceptable).

  • A recent photo of yourself.

SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Must be a legal U.S. resident.

  • Must have an unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher and be in good standing with current school.

  • Must be planning to attend a traditional college/university on a full-time basis, or a specialized/technical college/university on a part-time or full-time basis, in South Carolina for the fall 2024 semester.

  • Must be an undergraduate student for the fall 2024 semester. Graduate students are not eligible to apply.

The Clear View Simpson Heritage Scholarship

The Clear View Simpson Heritage Foundation provides scholarship for talented high school seniors who are pursuing studies on the college or university level, or who plan to attend a technical school or training program.

  • The Roberta Breazeale Scholarship $500

    Open to students who will attend a technical institution or trade school.  Applicants must be a relative of an alumni member who attended Simpson or Clear View High School in Easley SC.

  • Clearview Simpson Heritage Foundation Alumni Scholarship $1000

    Open to students pursuing an undergraduate degree at a college or university.  Students must be a relative of an alumni member who attended one of the following high schools: Brewer,  Clear View, Geer Gantt, Sanders, Simpson, Spearman.

  • Clearview Simpson Heritage Foundation Majority Scholarship $1000

    Open to students pursuing an undergraduate degree at a college or university.

  • The Wilma Frances McKinney Thomas Scholarship $1000

    Open to student pursuing an undergraduate degree in a health-related or social services field.  Applicant must be a relative of an alumni member who attended Simpson or Clear View High School in Easley SC.

  • The Jennie Rosemond Allen Alumni Scholarship $500

    Open to students pursuing nursing or another health-related field.  Applicant must be a relative of an alumni member who attended Simpson or Clear View High School in Easley SC.

  • The Emma Ruth Ferguson Williams Scholarship $750

    Open to a male or female student pursuing a healthcare or education degree.  Students may pursue a degree from a technical school or from an undergraduate program.  A 2.80 GPA is required along with an one-page essay addressing "How beneficial this scholarship will be to you and why?"  Proof of community service is also required.  Students may be entering their freshman year of college or first or second year in a technical school.  Applicant must be a relative of an alumni member who attended Simpson or Clear View High School, Easley, SC.

  • The Empowerment Opportunity Scholarship $1000 - In memory of Rena Pauline Davis Chapman and Phyllis Mansell McKinney

    Open to a student pursuing an undergraduate degree from a college or university.  Students must be a relative of an alumni member who attended Clear View High School, Easley SC.  The scholarship is renewable for the sophomore, junior, and senior year of college pending a GPA of 2.5.

Deadline - Applications must be completed and returned to the Scholarship Committee postmarked no later than Friday May 17, 2024.

Applicant Must :

  • Be a graduating senior with a 2.0 GPA or better

  • Have applied and been accepted to an institution of higher learning.  Applicants applying for the alumni scholarships must have a relative that attended one of the following high schools: Brewer, Clearview, Geer Gantt, Sanders, or Simpson.

Applicants must submit:

  • Application

  • An official high school transcript

  • One page essay detailing their goals and choice of study.

Attention seniors: Behavioral Health Services of Pickens County (BHSPC) has opened up their scholarship opportunities for graduating seniors who are entering the Human Services field. The Hagan Scholarship

The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship, providing recipients with the opportunity to achieve their goals and graduate college debt-free. Applicants must graduate from a high school located in the United States. Applicant’s Adjusted Gross Household Income reported for 2022 Federal Income Tax Purposes must not have exceeded $100,000. Free workshops, Free Schwab Brokerage Accounts, and Free Study Abroad provide recipients with a practical understanding of important life skills not typically covered in the school curriculum. Recipients graduating college while in the Hagan Scholarship Program can apply for a Hagan Graduate Scholarship good for up to four additional consecutive semesters.

1. South Carolina Coaches Association of Women’s Sports and Trophies by “M” Scholarship - $1000.00 scholarship to an enrolling female college freshman planning to major in the medical field.

2. South Carolina Coaches Association of Women’s Sports Educator’s Scholarship - $1000.00 scholarship to an enrolling female college freshman planning to major in education. An additional $1000.00 scholarship is awarded from these applications for a Female Scholar-Athlete.

Joye Law Firm is pleased to sponsor the 2023 Joye HBCU Scholarship program. Joye Law will provide a $2,000 scholarship to a South Carolina student who is attending a historically Black college or university within the United States.

Patriots Path Scholarship

  • Eligibility: Any high school senior in JROTC or undergraduate student in ROTC who has at least a 3.0 GPA may apply for this scholarship.

  • Amount: $2,000

Bobby Chapman Junior Golf Foundation Scholarship 

You do not have to play golf to apply!  

Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA on the 4.0 scale. 

The student recipient is to be a person of good character, a person with demonstrated leadership capacity, a person who has acceptable academic promise and a person who promises to make a positive contribution as a mature citizen. 

Applications are due to your counselor by March 11, 2024 for consideration as each high school may only submit 5 applications to the Foundation.

Liberty Community Scholarship

South Carolina State University College of Agriculture, Family and Consumer Sciences AgriFCS Academy 2024-2025 Scholarship Application

South Carolina State University’s College of Agriculture, Family and Consumer Sciences (CAFCS) through a collaborative partnership with Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University (AAMU) will be awarding academic scholarships valued at $20,000 ($5,000 each academic year) to graduating high school seniors. This is a commitment-based scholarship that will be awarded to first-time freshmen entering the 2024-2025 academic year. Students must be committed to pursuing a degree in CAFCS at South Carolina State University to gain employment in Food, Agriculture, Natural Resources, or Human Sciences (FANH).

THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA WILL BE USED IN THE SELECTION OF RECIPIENTS:

  1. Students must be an incoming freshman for the 2024-2025 Academic Year.

  2. Students must major in one of the following areas:

    • AgriBusiness

    • Family and Consumer Sciences Business/Child Development

    • Family and Consumer Sciences Business/Fashion Merchandising

    • Family and Consumer Sciences Business/Multidisciplinary

    • Nutrition and Food Management

  3. Students must complete and submit this application by March 31, 2024, by 11:59 pm.

STUDENT ELIGIBILITY FOR SCHOLARSHIP:

A. African American male high school senior, who will graduate in the Spring of 2024.

B. Student will enter a 2 or 4 year college or university within one year of graduating from high school.

C. Student does not need to be accepted to a college or university at the time of application. However, payment of the award to a recipient's institution is contingent upon proof of acceptance and enrollment into the institution.

D. Minimum of a 3.0 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

E. Completion of the academic performance report by the school counselor.

F. Submission of two recommendations.

G. Application is received on or before April 12, 2024.

  • Attend a 2 or 4 year accredited college or university

  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.0 and not exceeding 2.5 on a 4.0 scale

  • Be actively involved in school and community activities
